If you scroll all the way through, you will see\n  sections on Social Stories,EmotionalWellbeing, Calming and Energizing\n  Activities, Mindfulness sessions, Family activities, Mindset, and Bereavement\n  support.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspep.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/COVID-19_parent_handout_NASP_NASN_2-20_FINAL.pdf\"><strong>The National Association of School Psychologists\n  and National Association of School Nurses in the USA have joined together to\n  create&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>a very helpful short guide for parents and carers\n  on talking to children about COVID-19<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/carolgraysocialstories.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Pandemics-and-the-Coronavirus.pdf\"><strong>Carol\n  Gray&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>has produced a&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>gentle\n  and reassuring social story<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;illustrated\n  with uplifting photographs to help children, including children with ASD, to\n  understand the facts about coronavirus and keep calm.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/theautismeducator.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/The-Corona-Virus-Free-Printable-Updated-2-The-Autism-Educator-.pdf\"><strong>The Autism Educator website has a&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>helpful\n  social story with clear line-drawing illustrations<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;to help children with ASD understand the\n  facts about Covid-19.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/nosycrow.com\/blog\/released-today-free-information-book-explaining-coronavirus-children-illustrated-gruffalo-illustrator-axel-scheffler\/?fbclid=IwAR2tTP_Vf7gEofcz-O1CR2fpuw0rT6Gauw24zv9gt2g9mKRYPm6qaIZqBPo\"><strong>Axel\n  Scheffler (illustrator of The Gruffalo)&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>has joined with Nosy Crow publishers and medical experts\n  to create an&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>electronic flipbook to share facts about\n  Coronavirus with children<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/660919d3-b85b-43c3-a3ad-3de6a9d37099.filesusr.com\/ugd\/64c685_0a595408de2e4bfcbf1539dcf6ba4b89.pdf\"><strong>A short,\n  simple and reassuring booklet<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;to\n  read with young children and open up helpful conversations about Coronavirus\n  has been produced by MindHeart.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mencap.org.uk\/advice-and-support\/coronavirus-covid-19\"><strong>Mencap have produced a&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>very\n  clear explanation of Coronavirus<\/strong><strong>,\n  with photos and practical guidance on how to follow health advice,&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>particularly\n  suitable for young people with learning disabilities<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspep.org.uk\/?attachment_id=755\"><strong>A short\n  parent guide to helping children and young people manage in unsettling times<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;has been created by Dumfries and Galloway\n  Psychology Service (scroll down to the bottom of the page for the link)<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspep.org.uk\/?attachment_id=763\"><strong>Ten tips\n  for maintaining structure and routine during school closure<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;have been prepared by Scotland\u2019s Educational\n  Psychologists (scroll down to the bottom of the page for the link).<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspep.org.uk\/?attachment_id=759\"><strong>Four\n  posters to help with wellbeing and caring for ourselves<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;have been gathered together (scroll down to\n  the bottom of the page for the link).<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspep.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/School-Closure-Toolkit-supporting-ASD.pdf\"><strong>A School\n  Closure Toolkit&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>has been\n  produced to help parents of children with ASD to maintain clarity and good\n  routines during school closure.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspep.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Coping_calendar.pdf\"><strong>This attractive<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Coping\n  Calendar&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>has 30 daily\n  tasks to help maintain perspective and wellbeing during the pandemic.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspep.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Home-Activities-Widgit.pdf\"><strong>A sample\n  visual that you can adapt with your child<\/strong><strong>, to reduce boredom and children\u2019s reliance on\n  adults for activity suggestions.<\/strong><\/a>\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Place2Be &#8211; Coronavirus: wellbeing activity ideas for families The following materials and links have been collated by our Educational Psychology Team.
